frequently asked questions

Do you shoot 2SLGBTQIA+ weddings?

Heck yeah! Love rocks.

This is a safe space for everybody, no matter which gender, orientation, or identity to which you ascribe.

Riki and Cheryl both use she/her pronouns.  Please feel free to share yours (and we’ll make sure the ceremony reflects them too).

Where should I get married on PEI?

There are so many beautiful options for an elopement on PEI. Do you want to get married surrounded by white dunes? Or maybe standing atop one of our famous red cliffs? We have some great, off-the-beaten-path suggestions for you.

But honestly?  The beach at sunset is kind of our specialty.

What’s the best time of day to get married?

About an hour before sunset gives the best light for photographs.

But don’t worry, we’re cool with any time that works for you.

Can we book you for a vow renewal?

We love vow renewals! The cost for a photographer and commissioner will be the same but you won’t have to worry about obtaining a license, of course.

How far in advance do I have to book?

You can book anytime (heck, we can probably squeeze you in tomorrow) but if you have an important date in mind, we suggest the sooner the better – especially for peak summer season.

Can I have guests?

You sure can! But if you want to include guests in your photos, we’ll probably need a little more time to make sure we do things right. (We are animal lovers, so your furbaby can be a guest too).

We’re not super comfortable in front of the camera. Help!

We hear this all the time! But don’t worry, we both like to create a relaxed atmosphere for every shoot. You can concentrate on your love and we’ll worry about how to make it look good.

I live on PEI. Do you still want to shoot my wedding?

Absolutely! Riki and Cheryl both have extensive experience shooting every kind of wedding, from traditional to wacky.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Yes, please.

But we promise to make it easy.

When must my total bill be paid?

Final payment is due two weeks prior to the wedding date. But don’t worry, we’ll do the calendar work and let you know specifics.

What forms of payment do you accept?

E-transfer (CAD) is the easiest way to pay. We currently do not accept credit cards.

What happens if it rains on our wedding?

If you are ok with rain, we are too (we may just have our gear wrapped up) or we can move to an indoor or alternative location. Usually a rainy day means beautiful light for photographs.

Planning an outdoor wedding comes with risks, of course, but we promise to work with you to figure out the best options.

How long until I get my photos?

Need a sneak peek to surprise your family? We can get that to you within a few days of your actual elopement. For the full set, it can take up to 6 weeks for delivery to provide you with our best work.
